Hit or miss? Who has put a load of trouble free miles on there's,I see a few folk have broken 2 clusters on their lammys,? Why is this,? Are Rimini replacing cluster, upgraded ones? Or are some people not using best quality lay shafts etc, like the 125 quid broady ones,,spending 700 for it to go tits up ain't a good deal,!!

You will find that anything being sold in shops will be ok and well worth the money. If you buy second hand then you need to ask a lot of questions and double check with Rimini. Just my opinion.

I fitted mine over a year ago,not sure how many miles I've done but maybe 1500 ish and I've given it a good caning through the gears. I've got the one with the updated cluster. Fitted as per instructions and with a new Casa wheel bearing and original good condition lay shaft. Been spot on!!! It's in a Saxelby stage 4.

And where do you suppose most people bought their gearboxes?

The batch that broke have been recalled so what's being sold now are the upgraded ones. Hope that's clearer for you.

Which presumably were bought off dealers and not off the back of a lorry? Hope that's blatantly obvious for you?

Mines been fine.
Not loads of miles, probably about a thousand or so but thrashed on the motorway and round town with no ill effects.
New SIL layshaft when fitted ; MB out of stock at the time.
Confident enough to use it for Switzerland in June. ( Famous last words.................!! )
Its the latest version running in a RB225 BTW.

I got in early and bought straight from dean 8-)
Then had Al (Diablo) fit it, no problems in 1600 miles and a few goes on the dyno.
I have the MB layshaft and it shimmed up ok, so I'm told  I don't think it's a fit at home gearbox if you only have a basic tool kit and my mechanical knowledge
TS1 and PX stay in the garage (future barn finds) out on the GTS 300 when I go out on a scooter.
I know I’ll get there and back

For what its worth... I have a first batch cyclone (number 22 I think) with the 2nd batch cluster, its done 7000 miles, been to Avignon, up and down the alps & pyrenees, coast to coast, down the motorway, up the motorway any other way I can ride it I have! Its done loads of rallies near and far, Its in an RB 260 the scooter never missed a beat all last year. I dont have any other parts in my engine that anybody else cannot buy. I fitted it myself & have changed the gearing loads as I have a close ratio 5th gear as well as the std 5th gear, personally Id hate to go back to 4 speed
