lifespan of powder coat?
totaly agree with the above you get some great finishes as well, only prob sometimes is spraying the horn casting and headset top to match.

My scooter was done 10 ish years ago. So that's why I am not complaining about the painter. The paint is still good as well. It was a very reputable dealer who applied the powder/paint.
Has powder coat improved over the years. Advances in technology etc and perhaps older powder is not as good. Or is the lifespan limited.

you show me a 10 year old painted scooter showing less rust then a powder coated one paint will bubble first

No it won't
The paint is perfect. The powder coat is rusted from inside out. I will try post photos.
Look at my series 2 on old scooter. Painted over 10 years ago. Stored in same garage. Paint not bubbling.

must be the prep then as i have some old stuff that looks spot on still

is all the paint ok and all the powder coat poor if its only a odd piece of powder coat then it must be the prep

Seems to be the powder. Its the wheel rims, fuel tank, frame tube, underneath of mudguard. The loop and panels are painted they are good.
Either bad preparation or was powder coat not as good ten years ago and improved now.
I wouldn't mind but I support Leeds .........fook knows why I had it painted red and white. It will eventually be white , blue and yellow.
