Hi all I have just fitted a temp gauge to my tuned TS1 lammy.

It occured to me that I had no idea of what the critical operating temps were when the engine starts to get damaged.
Anyone got any idea what I should loook out for temp wise?

Cheers :)

under plug temp on a 9 or 10 plug anything above 370f /380f and you should be cooling it off with choke or if pushes to 400f slow down a bit clutch in and blip the throttle then think about addressing the jetting or ign timing to get it to run a bit cooler
problem you have is the jetting needed to run cool and max revs for long periods will generally be a bit too rich for general use around town and result in a spluttery carb set up ,which is why i run the handlebar choke kits ,combined with the temp gauge you can monitor the condition and do something about it as the temp reading starts to rise

I had to make a longer clutch cable with grey outer and abandon the dual bracket in order to fit one on my series 2 but it seams to work a treat.
