^... I don't know what BHP figure Eden is quoting these days as it is a long time since I looked at that thread but my piston port 238 (70x62) motor took highest BHP on a scooter dyno day (about a decade ago!) at 28.3 BHP. Whilst this is nothing special by today's standards, it was highest of the lot on the day (same day, same dyno), beating all the TS1s etc. 2nd place was another mate's iron 238 also. Both were piston port, 2 transfer, 1 exhaust, 34mm open mouth carb and off the shelf road expansion.
As such, I've seen nothing on Eden's blog that would make me question his figures.

impressive performances!!
I guess this 215 project should pull a bit less cause i'll keep an almost standard exhaust. French pigs are becoming nervous those days...

will be very interested to see, running an iron with exact same timings with 30pwk mb reed valve and mb clubman, no where near as opened up as yours but im keen to take it to the next level instead of getting a kit. maybe up to a 60mm crank and out to 70mm, that being said its really awesome as it is now.............

One major prob with big bore is that you aint got enough meat left to dig boost ports...

I'm fairly impressed by the huge amount of power you can get with a "simple" 2 transfer port engine. Reminds me those unbelievable kreidler pouring more than 6 bhp on a modest 50 cc 2 port/ piston ported engine... Puzzled because I just don't understand how you can get it with a reliable daily scooter. I must confess you're sort of a sorcerer!

big cc helps a lot
although I do a lot of miles on it, its not the type of engine that a lot of people could live with, its always talking to me and it has schizophrenia, one day its telling me one thing then and next its saying something else. Ive learnt over the years when its happy and when its got the hump and ride it to suite how it feels on a particular day.
