Starting point should always be:

What do you want out of a kitted engine

Whats the scooter going to be used for ie daily work horse/rally wagon

And as soosh says whats your budget (always the most important bit)

Thanks for the comments guys.
As it says in my opening comments I have the majority of the bottom end already and thet should get built this weekend, all I really need to buy at this moment in time is the exhaust and the barrel kit. Money wise I almost have enough to buy the Avanti TT3 kit as after reading loads of threads that looks like the way I will go. Just got wait a couple more weeks and then I'm sorted and hopefully someone will have one in stock!

I am after something I can ride on a laid back sunny day with the missus on the back, do the odd rally on, but have some get up and go when I'm on my own. Perhaps use it for work every now and then as it 100 mile round trip.

This will be a second scooter as I have a Gp fitted with a Fast Road Tuned (by Dan) Imola that gives me my speed fix on a regular basis, it won't be used everyday. Andy

My take on a tourer is that a tourer is an engine that will sit at a set speed for a length of time, ie motorway running and also handle hills and bends with ease. The Avanti seems capable of cruising at 60mph and with it's low down grunt can pull hills with ease.........depending on the exhaust.

TS1's are a good all round option although designed for slightly shorter gearing they certainly perform. Matched with an Avanti head they look to be a good option.

Muggelos and Monzas are nice reliable kits, with the monza offering a proven option for tuning.

MB and GT both have a good spec' but as of yet are untested in their longevity.

For me the Avanti looks to be market leader for a "Tourer"
Not having a dig at the avanti Morgan? maybe me you and mick could discuss this over a beer that could be interesting getting the 3 of us in the same place. :D
