battery test for back light

Is there any way to test the wiring from the brake switch to the bulb by hooking up a battery to make it light up , I think the switch has gone but what to double check the other way - also

You can test the light itself my connecting it to a battery charger. Connect earth to Black side of charger and other two wires in turn to the Red side, one wire is rear light and other wire is stop light. I suppose you could pull the two wires from the switch and do the same and connect the earth on the charger to the frame.

Use multimeter and continuity test from Brown feed to the brake switch and the new black probe at the pink brake bulb feed, operate front brake and continuity will occur unless open circuit along the line.if that makes sense..
