Craig H (if he's on here?) has had one in his GP for a few years now, suits the style of his scooter but yes, it does look a bit modern ;)

Instead of all this faffing aboiut with conversions, why not just fit one of these as it fits straight into a Lammie lampholder and is very bright and has the correct dipping shield

35/35w versus 55/60w (+ the many high output at same wattage options available in H4)
But the Halfords option is great for plug and play. ;)

I have Lofty's prototype in my GP200 and it was bright and freed up enough power to run a 50 watt halogen bulb. I'm going to convert the street racer to a BGM board someday. They I'll run a brighter headlamp on that, too. Halogen bulbs use a filament, they're just filled with halogen gas, the focus is the same as with normal incandescent bulbs, so the standard reflector and lens work with it.

I'd also like to install an LED ring round the headlamp, ala Audi cars, so I'd be super visible in the daylight, too.

You can get these in 40/45W (I think) certainly higher wattage than 30/35 I bought one from my local motor factors.
I get my kicks out on the floor.
