rear shock now in place and feels good. with no load on it, it sits 3 degrees arse up, sat on it I get about 3/4" static sag and a nice amount of travel and it feels right, slightly stiffer than the front setup



since this pic I have finished the cooling system plumbing, filled with water and no leaks, result LOL

need to run it up and leave idling to see if it boils or if the fan will hold the temp down.

tried something a bit different with the temp gauge, while sat on it I can see the position of the needle, the toolbox lid will be black so the gauge will blend in, just need to sort the foam gasket to deal with the curve of the lid.




current job is making the 2 stroke oil tank, 1.3 litre capacity, so it will be safe to run it till I can pour a whole 1 litre bottle in.

progress been slow as I been working on a mates chop to try and pay for the bills and also pay for my trip to Germany this weekend LOL

been making cables, finishing up the coolant hose runs etc.

didnt like the idea of using an ugly plastic oil tank from a bike, so decided to knock up my own, this way it fits, its the size I want, and oh yeah its free

holds 1.3litres, that will last a very long time with this mito motor, I remember only topping up the oil tank with about 130ml after using 9.5l of petrol.

will get pic of it fitted at weekend, the expansion bottle cap is perfect fit thru the air filter hole, this filler is right central under the petrol filler cap, got a bit of billet alloy about to go in the lathe, will just knock up a basic bung/cap with 2 o rings to seal and hold in place

cheers, plan is end of february to get it out in rattlecan black paint and put a hard fast 1000 miles on it, that take me to end of March, then strip for powdercoat and decals etc, should be done for end of April, well it needs to be as I need it to get to Newquay LOL

problem is like all those other people on here in similar position can probably attest to, I seem to put mates jobs, and anything that pays in front of my own work, throw in the normal other joys of basically being a single working parent LOL and times is very hard to find, get a couple of hours a week to go look at it, spend a lot of that scratching my head trying to work out where I was up to.

got a job list on the whiteboard now, tick it off as I go

more silicone hose for the 2 stroke oil is on its way, red naturally along with turnkey ignition, toolbox lock, and heaps of other odds and sods

leave for Germany tonight, so this weekends a loss, but back on it proper next week

just give it a go, I started building this before I had ever sat on a scooter LOL

I found some old faded innocenti drawings online, managed to blag some known dimensions from this forum and facebook etc, scaled the drawing and worked from there.

all I knew was it had to have bike engine, have 10" wheels and at a glance look like a normal GP, as well as being cheap, oh and hopefully be capable of about 85-90mph LOL

no specialist gear used, pillar drill, cordless drill, angle grinder, etc. just shopped about and bought things that were priced right, ie cheap or free, and adapted them or the surrounding area to accept them

including my latest buying spree I spent total of about £770 I think.

Projects like this don't usually float my boat as I'm a bit of a purist at heart but this is really impressive, particularly on such a small budget. Loving how the story develops and you're obviously putting heart into it. Great job and can't wait to see it running. It's a bike with soul.
