im starting a restoration on a vnb 1t from 1960 and theres a few questions that i need some help with if there is anyone out there that can help . engine wise i've been told the original will be too slow so was thinking of maybe a t5 or a px do these slip right in without any bother ? and the other major question (there will be lots of others ) is im changing the 8" wheels to 10" and didnt know if this would result in having to change the front forks or do any of these rim extension thingys work well , anybody out there that has done similar project recently?

Engine fits no problem, front end many options replace with Sprint, GS150, GL or similar or you could fit a disc front end, a little more expensive but worth it.

This set up uses original forks and welded PX bottom section, PK front shock and Beedspeed front disc unit. Position of master cylinder is the problem either fit to headset with a little modification or use the semi-hydraulic where you can fit the master cylinder to the forks and keep the headset as is.

that is an impressive set up for sure, the sprint or gs option are they just a straight swap

as you can tell GLscoot im a complete novice and although i will be getting lots of help from all the scooter lads around me im trying to keep the work that they need to do to a minimum and educate myself on the finer things of a vintage vespa

None taken, the only reason the hose is like that is because in the picture the forks were not in the frame and the hose gets in the way when you feed it into the frame.

Im pretty sure that it is a straight swap, but to be sure, measure from the bottom of the fork bearing to the top of the fork bearing cup on the frame and I will let you know. The GS forks will be more expensive and harder to find.

much appreciate the info buddy but i havent started the strip down yet ! hopefully wednesday early finish and get started .the brains of my rebuild has been away at that a19's rally all weekend and he wants to be here when we start the strip down, its gonna be a long process so im not in a hurry still waiting on a nod for a t5 engine as well , i might start a wee post on my adventures
