im about to fit one to my rb 250, im i right in asuming from the fiiting insrictions providid,you realy do need to no wot revs your engine runs at,ie run on dyno or have a revcounter fitted before setting you static timing,or has anybody out there put one on rb 250,to piont me inthe right direction??

Piece of advice; if you know your engine can work with a varitronic, then simply strobe your static timing at 24deg BTDC and choose curve 7 on your Smart Booster, that's a good starting point.
And make sure you properly secure the SB on top of the CDI

I'm also building an RB250 but I'm going to leave the timing static at what Rayspeed recommends. I do like things like the Kytronic and I use an Agusto on my general run about scoot but not for something highly tuned just incase the timing settings heat things up too much.

If you do something "highly tuned", it makes little sense to "not tune it", don't you think ?
Keep in mind, for instance, that standard PX200 runs most of their life with 23deg BTDC static
