If anyone could help I would appreciate it. I have a used rear hub in great condition and I would like to use it. I know from the serial number on it it requires an 11 degree cone. It did not come with one but I have a cone and it appears to be the correct fit though I am not 100% sure ( I know it is not an early 20 degree series one cone for sure but there was also an 8 degree cone for later Li/SX series and all GP's). Should the difference in fit be obvious? It seems to fit flush to the inside taper of the hub and if dropped in rests proud on the lip by about 3 or 4 mm I'd say, so it looks like it will compress as it should onto the layshaft properly. Better yet, does anyone have the exact top diameter measurements for an 11 degree cone versus the later 8 degree one?

The serial says 1994-5100 , and according the references this ought to be an 11 degree taper but when I compare my hub to the pics in Sticky's book the hub looks like a later SX/GP one (no raised centre lip and a double lip around the brake lining part),...so is it possible to have a 1994 serial and have the later 8 degree taper and not be stamped 1954-XXXX?
