Hi All!
Just picked up my newly painted PX from the painter yesterday...
So now start the rebuild.
But how on earth am I supposed to get the electric harness through the frame/tunnel?

Easiest way I have found is to thread a gear outer cable through the frame then attach the wiring loom to the cable with some tape and pull it through that way. Start from the headset end and pull through to the area under the tank. Andy

get an outer cable and feed it thru frame. tape yr loom to the cable as tight and flat as possible and pull thru....

I've always found 7 hours in the garage with plenty of beer, bleeding knuckles and lots of swearing while trying to thread loom through to be by far the best way.

he he, bleeding knuckles are absolutely a part of the game...
I've fitted a lot of harnesses in old largeframes by using the wire trick.
But the problem with a modern PX, is the huge connection in front (that is too thick/big to get through the tunnel), and the amount of sockets for the connections in the rear (battery, starter, rectifier etc)
So any good suggestions, or is the wire solution the only path to heaven??

lay the harness out on the floor look at all the wires that come off the main bit, lay the wires the same way so no ruts tape the harness up as tight as you can then feed down from the ront get your fingers into the frame where the footbrake is then you can help it through that part easier then you think if you taped it tight

I think when we did mine recently we taped it all together and went from the front. There's some nasty bracket or something just about as far as your fingers go down that stuff catches in.
+ 1 on the skint knuckles

I may be off track here , but when I put a replacement loom in my Rally 200 frame I started from the tank end.....The handlebar wires were attached separately to the main loom with a cable tie, so snipped that off to start ( leaving less cable to feed) . fed a cable outer rearwards from horn & same from footbrake....taped loom to outers then fed & pulled loom slowly forward ( a mate comes in handy here)....when the wires were thro horn and rear brake , I fed outer down from top of fork tube and attached loom and pulled upwards , then re cable tied handlebar wires.
I thought your model has a large T/ block under horncasting so feeding / pulling from rear would seem better to me .
