Evening Guys, is the black Italian crank with the silver outer webs and polished con rod ok for the RB20 kit? I'm not sure of the manufactures name. I've had an AF crank twist on me and don't really trust them. These Italian ones are supposed to be good. Any comments greatly appreciated. Pete.

You need a crank with a 115/116 rod for the RB 20

Sorry i should of said. The one I'm looking at has a 116mm polished con rod with uprated big end bearing and it's designed for the RB20 kit. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with one..

That should be the MEC crank that you are referring to.If it is the one with the silver conrod, make sure it's got shims as some of the 60mm stroke ones haven't.Better to have crank shims than shim up a piston. If it does, then i'd presume it to be safe as long as the lubricating slots on the conrod are wide enough for lubrication of the big end.cheers,Speedy.

Rebuilding the AF crank has got to be less expensive than a new crank.

I've already had the one that twisted rebuilt and up rated at great expensive. It's currently in my Imola and not suitable for an RB20 motor anyway. I've been assured by the dealer that sold me the crank that it'll be more than up to the job....
