Bit pi**ed off at the moment, got a jl4 sitting in the workshop without an end can, so jumped onto cambridge lambrettas website and found this
http://lambretta.co.uk/catalog/product_ ... ts_id=2819
so i ordered one together with the carbon end can, items arrived but guess what they dont fit, the fittin on the new connecting pipe is double skinned just like the end of my JL exhaust, ive sent the tail can support back to cambridge together with an email showing pics of the end of the exhaust, and the end of the new connecting pipe, Anyway today i recieved an email from cambridge saying, "As far as I can remember, all JL's have come this way, with the double slip on the connector, the exhaust has always been a sinlge skin" sorry i thought it was the other way round double skin on the exhaust and a single skin on the connecting pipe, so i went round to mates house tonight and checked his jl3 and jl4 pipes and the double skin is on the exhaust end. Im surprised someone who are lambretta experts and been in the game for a long time can make a mistake like this
jl exhaust end can woes

I'd not blame Cambridge for JL changing the design. OK, they should be aware of changes made to the products that they sell but as the design change is a reverse of previous, it is actually quite easy to miss. Cam Lam seem to sell more of the older design JLs, which fit one way, whereas Andy Francis seems to be selling more of the newer JL pipes (Franspeed JLs), which are the other way around. The change is actually quite recent in the bigger scheme of things.
