Long fin flywheel cover
Hi, i,m gonna run an electronic kit on my cutdown with a short fin af lightened flywheel and a long fin flywheel cover , will this be okay ? cheers
not ideal,the general thought is to have a least gap as possible between the fins and cover to maximise airflow efficiency

Sorry to jump in on this thread but im in a similar situation!
I need a new flywheel,currently using indian stator and long fin flywheel,my mate has lent me a lightened AF flywheel which when fitted,even with a smaller flywheel cowl still has about a 15mm gap between fins and cowl! will this cause cooling issues?
I've also noticed that the timimg mark and trigger magnets are in a different place which will mean making new timing marks and i guess elongating the holes on the stator to be able to achieve correct timing,is this normal?

Just elongate the screw slots in the cover and mount it closer to the fins - tinsnips or Dremmel for any sticky out bits.
Or come to Wicksteed and buy one of my standard ones that I'm flogging...

Thanks for the replies lads , does anyone want to swap a brand new long stainless flywheel for a short fin one ?
I ran a fat cowling on a short fin AF flywheel for years (didn't even know there was 2 kinds at the time to be honest), on a cast iron 200 and thrashed the Kahunas off it all ower the place.
