Hi I know this question has probably been asked loads so sorry for going over old ground.
How many miles should I do before taking my scoot to a dyno.
Just had a new RT small block kit fitted new bearings oil seals and clutch.
And done 180miles up to now.

0 miles , id dyno before hitting the road, last thing you want is to go out on potentially lean jetting or over advanced timing on a tight top end and do its first miles at part throttle where they are generally too lean or advanced ,you wont be able to climb a hill or into a head wind without loading a fresh motor more so than you would on a few quick dyno runs to ascertain jetting etc is safe all done in a controlled enviroment

put mine on a dyno at zero miles as what Darrell said you dont want to do damage from the word go....after saying that i cringed while my operator got some horsepower readings from a freshly built top end...
but what i took from thats was a safely jetted bike i could down jet(at my peril)once run in..

Best practice if you dont know how to jet up and yes it does make you cringe on a fresh engine!

If its gonna blow up when you start to push it, best on a dyno and not on road

very good point an early nip up on the road could see your pride and joy taking a slide over the tarmac
if not gonna dyno richen up in the part throttle areas mix screw/pilot/needle if it splutters at least u know its a rich as starting point which at worst may just foul a plug

I'm hopefully getting the MB clubman on Tue if they have one in stock.
Then I'll be contacting scooterotica to book it in for the dyno.
does anyone know if you have to book a long time in advance to have work done.
Thanks.

Dynos we can do with a week or two notice, but garage/engine works are fully booked up for some time......
