running problem ,please help

went out for a run last night bike running good , went over a sleeping policeman a bit quicker than i would have liked (dint see it in time) carried on for a few hundred yards and opened it up , and i thought it had gone on to reserve, but now when i open it up the engine coughs and splutters like its on choke , checked to make sure nothing has come loose but all seems ok , has anyone got any ideas .Steve

Sounds like you have shook something loose does it feel electrical Steve ? Loose connection maybe or needle clip bounced off ?

I had a similar issue and it turned out to be carb had slipped and kinked petrol pipe, gave a fuel starvation issue, and the ht cap came off as well lol its a long story.

hi toddy checked all connections they all seem ok , and nothing seem to be up with the carb , it seems ok untill i open it up fully

is it a ts1?....i know my route of petrol pipe comes close to the bump stop underneath the frame....is you ht lead tight?could have pulled it from the plug cap

I've just replied to this over on the LCGB site, I wondered if the bottoming out could have caused the choke cable to have pulled out and got caught on the adjuster. Worth checking it is closing correctly.

Or as happened to a mate of mine, the needle circlip holding the carb needle in place had come off. And every time he went past half throttle, the engine was choked with fuel. Took him ages to solve that one.
