Get a multimeter and set it on resistance scale. Check resistance across red and white- should be about 100-110
Then check green and white - should be about 500 ohm

If you get these readings then tge problem is elsewhere

Hi, the height and position are different, it's clear. the indian is slightly higher around 1mm...i measured it. i dont have a multimeter to measure the resistance but the stator is brand new out of the box so... how can the resistance be faulty? Noone has still told me how to adjust the height and the position of the bgm pick up just in case. Im sure the problem is the bgm cause the old has worked for a while before the pick up solder came off and i couldnt weld it well back again.
I'll try to get a multimeter tomorrow.

Just because its new doesn't mean it isn't faulty! You can adjust pick up height by adding or removing laminates from under the pick up.

yeah but if its faulty what will i do then, ship it back to Rimini Lambretta?? mah... how can they sell a stator with fauty resistance is like if MIchelin was selling punctured tyres! :o Tomorrow i'll try to check the resistance and play with the laminates..could you tell me where you buy and how you cut precisely or work in general laminates for stator plates? I would not like to buy a dozens tools (plus the multimeter) for a stupid 1mm metal spacer!

hmm not a bad idea but since i have a spare pick up i was thinking of asking someone welding the new pick up on the old stator that in that case would be better to leave like it is since has been working well so far... i'll invent something tomorrow... but this all story is hilarious: indian parts working better than european.. mah dont know what to think...thanks for the tips.

Please don't start hacking at your bgm stator until you have done the simple multimeter checks referred to in sticky's book. Are you sure you have wired it correctly? (I am looking on a phone and my tired old eyes can't focus that well ). Yours is a scoot "restored" in India right? I'd have more faith in the bgm stator than I would have in the electrical system in your scoot to be honest, mate.

Hi storkfoot, i simply attached the new stator out of the box to the old existing cables that were working well before. Nothing else. I personally think that the problem is not in the resistance, i think that the bgm works well but the pick up position and height doesnt match with the indian flywheel. I dont know what else to think: theres 4 wires: red green white and yellow is impossible to mistake the connections.... But if there's somthing you think i should check other then the resistance let me know.

I could stnd to be corrected but I can't recall ever hearing of a problem with the hight of BGM pickups when used with Indian flywheels. That is the LAST thing I would suspect tbh. Storkfoot is right to suspect the wiring on your scoot. Why? because it is also possible that the colours used on your old stator don't correspond with those on the BGM, the Indians were notorious for using none standard wiring. Depending on where the CDI is located, the wires from the stator SHOULD plug straight into the CDI unit, not into connectors in the loom.
