I will be building an engine up with a replacement casing using my Muggello and wondered while I have it all apart is it worthwhile matching the casing with the bottom of the cylinder as there is quite an overlap? What would the benefits be and would it alter jetting requirments etc?

I've just done my casings to match a RB.
My theory is that anything you can do to aid flow has got to be better.
I took inspiration from JB tunings website, there are photos of some lovely casings.
As for Jetting my logic is that the mixture is critical at the point of combustion and firing so when the casings have been matched i don't believe the carb should require re jetting.
Now there are tuning guys on here with better knowledge than I, I will watch this with interest.
Paul
ps don't polish the casings to a shine as this has detrimental effect!!!!!
