combination of shim and different kickstart sorted it. cheers boys. Im running in a new piston and crank so im taking it easy. first impressions are good although im hoping the box comes into its own when i can open it up. Im only really going up and down the box beacause i can as the speeds im going at the mo dont really need a 5th gear.
I have noticed that the gaps between 1st, neutral and second are really small. Im not able to get neutral at as stop only when rolling, ill have a play with the adjusters and see if i can sort it. Anyone notice what feels like a neutral just behind 4th or is that just me.

Yeah the cables are all okay although both inners and outers are brand new. Ill put a few more miles on to allow for stretch before i adjust them. Re the neutral behind 4th, i know one of the racers who is using a 5 speed this season who has also noticed this. It may be just peculair to some scoots that have the 5 speed? When im setting the cables up i normally take it off the stand and see if i can engage all gears withouth the clutch by rolling the scooter backwards and forwards gently. If you can then it means the cable are pretty much in the correct position i find. when i do this with the 5 speed the 4th gear doesnt engage and you can roll the scooter back and forward without any resistance, click into 5th and your back in gear. the same going back down the gears. I have found this ghost neutral a couple of times whilst riding although it easily slides into 4th.
Not sure if anyone else has had this, would be intersting to know.
