Ive fitted a sip speedo to my ts1 ac no battery and it works fine no issues at all and the clock keeps good time best thing ive brought in a while 
Lambrettas are for life!

Digital display has stopped working properly on mine - which runs off DC - (maybe something to do with rain at Exmouth over weekend) and I've only had it on scoot for 6 months, covering maximum of 1000 miles. My mates has also completely stopped working on AC. I've heard of a few others failing as well.
