Use Electrex on two scooters with no issues for a few years, just fit and forget about those previous stator issues

Whilst this scooter has had 6 stators how many looms has it had? The cheap part of the whole electrical system seems to be the part that never gets changed.
It's a bit like cables, I seem to sell the same inner cables to the same people over and over again.

It's funny you should say that. The scoot was fitted with a new loom at rebuild June 09.The same problem has occurred from day one,yet I have to admit that this has been overlooked as a possibility by myself and others. The initial thought had been that the crank was twisted. This was taken out and re aligned, because the motor started misfiring after 20/25 miles. This was said to be caused by heat from the crank being twisted. The crank was 4 thou out and this was claimed to be the culprit.I don't know if that is likely or not? After this was done, the scoot has done 400 mile and done it again. The loom that is in was supplied by AFR.Thanks for your input mi duck.corrado wrote:Whilst this scooter has had 6 stators how many looms has it had?
