Bad running/back fire

personally if it was me i would dump the jetex and get yourself a 25mm dellorto, Harry knows his stuff but i dont like jetex carbs.

Like I said in the original post I have dumped the Jetex and am running a 22mm Dellorto and it hasn't helped (not useing the jets or atomizer from the jetex of course)

Ive tried harry several times but couldnt get hold of him, havent had time to get in the garage and check the fuel flow yet

So after being on holiday for a couple of weeks I final got some time in the garage and sorted my problem! It was fuel starvation.
I checked the fuel flow from the tap and that was well over half a liter in a minute, so I checked the flow through the carb and that was only about 300-350ml in a minute, so I drilled out the hole behind the float needle with a 2.5mm drill and after that it flowed about 400ml in a minute. Put it all together and took it for a run and it still ran s**t, but quite a bit better with the choke on.
So I drilled out one of the indian atomizers I had lying around to 2mm (the previous one was 1.5mm) and it was totally transformed, it goes much much better.
Considering its a very mild 175 tune running a standard 22mm carb and standard 40 year old pipe I'm well happy with the performance,smiles all round
