Right, I`m binning my hydraulic clutch.
I`m making a list of things I need and have this so far.
GP Side case
breather
oil sight hole plug/window
side case gaskets
clutch arm
clutch rod
clutch arm spring
circlips for clutch rod
gp clutch brass plunger
gp plunger arm
kickstart seal, circlip and washer
AF 6 plate clutch
On the headset I need the cluch support and lever, but how do I identify the difference between Italian or Indian?
To tell you the truth, I don`t know which I have now.
Bye bye hydraulic clutch...
I believe the difference is the width where the lever shroud fits the handlebars, the taper starts at approx. 28.4mm. Bigger on later Indian scooters. I also think earlier Indian ones might have fitted Italian headsets but don't quote me on that. The Italian headsets are marked with numbers and an innocent mark. headset is 22861002 and on other side P1476 with a little elliptical circle with ip inside it. bottom has 22001030 and P1175 with innocent mark above it. I haven't a clue about Indian headsets but they won't have the Innocenti marks. Hope that helps a little
internal diameter for shrouds at widest point is supposed to be 33mm for italian and 35mm for indian..
Hope that helps..
Hope that helps..

Brilliant, thanks.
Looking around the www. shops, it seems that they either have Indian GP, or italian series 3.
Am I correct in thinking (hoping) that DL/GP is the same as the other series 3`s?

Didn`t see the question Dennis.
The reason why it was converted in the first place was to combat an overly springed clutch, i-e 5 plate conversion with uprated springs, Center spring and px springs.
That thing would give you nightmares in traffic without the hydraulic clutch.
I`m converting it with an AF 6 plate jobbie, and they can be pulled with a normal cable setup.
Don`t get me wrong, It works fine and would problerbly be lurvly with a light clutch, but my handlebar area looks like spaghetti junction.
So the answer to your question, i suppose is simply astetics. Iv`e learned that simple is often the best.
