from a chap i speak to occasionally who worked there,he left to work at metrakit in spain and designed a new 50cc engine for metrakits motorcross bike he travelled over to see me from barcelona and spent 2 days with me developing it on my dyno.
i also read all work/testing was done on the dyno on a produce/cut and test basis with no sim work

The Aprillia RSA125 GP bike was developed on an eddy current dyno.

Interesting thread . IMHO the inertia works great for the sprinter but when sittin on my roadbike at mid throttle on a motorway I rely more on plug chops info. Despite consuming copious bacon butties I cannot create sufficient load/drag to get reliable mid throttle AFR readout , all IMHO of course

Inertia dynos do what they do well, i'd love to have a go on a more expensive 'exotic' dyno to see what jetting changes i would make differently with different equipment. Would make an interesting experiment. But we do well with what we've got, and don't seem to have any problems, so happy days.
