My 2003 PX200 is struggling to top 60.. I know the top end speed quoted is only 62ish but i would think with a SIP Road, drilled air filter and upjet to 120 main that it would be a tad highter.

I've recently had the barrell honed and after 500 carefull miles the engine has recently cut out/ nipped (dare I say) under load. So thinking the two are probably related?

proably nipped the rings in angelo. even with a standard pipe you should be getting more than that out of a healthy engine. top end strip and check needed. you should be able to wang them all day. just sold that HB top end as well......

Cheers mate, I pretty much guessed that - was just hoping it wouldn't be after all the bother Ive had with this rebore but it was faster (not much) with the Sito I had on before. I will strip the top end down on Saturday. Is there anything else I should look for other than stuck, broken rings and marks, scratches on the piston and cyclinder?

if its that slow, I would look at ya timing as wel ange, a lot of late p200"s were retarded right back because of the 3 year warranty piaggio were offering for 30 quid at the time. cant get on wwsc site at moment, I"ll pm ya on there when I get sorted marra.

2001 PX200 Disc, 2000 miles on the clock, head down on A1 back to Catterick........... needle was off the clock.
Imagine, then, my surprise upon looking down at my Garmin 12XL GPS (with top spec military software,) to find that I was doing 57mph.

My brother bought his px200 new in 2003 . After the cushdrive failed we realised his scooter was fitted with a 125 primary . Is there a chance yours is the same ? We were always shocked reading about p200's struggling with 4th gear when his would rev out easily but only doing 60ish mph !
