I've been struggling finding suitable packers for a Vespa cylinder i'm long stroking. The Germans seem to be the only ones who supply them. I'm thinking of making my own but am undecided on what material to use (Aluminum, Steel, etc). Aluminum will get a nice tight seal but will compress and lose it's original thickness whereas steel will not compress but i'm concerned about the seal ??

Any ideas or recommendations on what material to use ? I'll be making the packers from 1 - 3mm in 1/2 mil increments.

brilliant idea  and you would sell more than you think, if cheap enough! aluminiun would be good enough i'd have thought, because of the way the load is spread on torque, obviously a metal harder would be more durable, down to what plate ye get for now't or cost, i'd have thought anyone using a packer/gasket in the barrel/head area would smear sealant on anyway to get an air tight seal...what would be even better, packers for polini, malossi, pinasco, standard pre-cut :?:...good luck
