just out of curiosity,
as iv got rid of my autolube tank,
i was thinking of connecting a bellow on the end of the hole where the sight glass was,
the on the inside running some tubing from the hole under the seat and this sight glass hole, to the carb hole to provide my carb with more cooler air, given its a phbh 28 with foam filter on it,
or would i just be best to get a malossi rubber tube thats like the standard tube but shaped differently to fit the phbh carbs???
just wondering if this would help the carb?
i dont want to really drill holes into my panel
more cool air

Sounds a good idea to me . I'd never have thought of it . I doubt there'd be a huge difference in any intake method but I'm definately interested in the result . Another benefit might be some extra storage under the seat for wetgear or whatever after a small bit of cutting . It would be a great spot to store a bottle of 2 stroke .

im thinking of just having a carb bellow over the top of the sight glass hole, and then run a malossi air bellow off the phbh carb

in theory the cavity inside is where it will be taking air from, so if air is coming in from under the seat and from the sight glass hole, then that should be better than then hot air from the engine surely?
as for extra storage space, not really, i thought of trying to mount a battery underneath but that was a no go,
iv also relocated my regulator and relay etc to the little ledge near the top, where the rear shock bolt is, nice hidey hole for it all there,
then im relocating my battery into my butty box in the middle, gives loads of room for inside my indian panel with a door in for more storage

I'm not sure about performance being dictated by where the air comes from........ I know for 100% fact that my scoot goes better with the Polini intake system and the air for that comes from under the panel.
It'd be interesting, but probably infeasible, to do a proper flow test in a wind tunnel to see just how much air, and the difference in temp, feed the carb with different filtering methods.

Nemo saltat sorbius, nisi infanus est.
The 'huge' under tank frame 'plenium chamber' is plenty to feed the carb: it is constantly filled by air pressure: underseat frame hole and frame tunnel round the drip tray. It really doesn't need any more. This system also provides sufficient 'filtering' without including an actual filter for me and is the best and preferred way of delivering sufficient, cool and relatively clean air for LF Vespas, with no filter to get clogged up and no filter foam restriction to intake.
The only downside is that you get a bit more induction noise (roar): but you are going fast enough to leave that in your wake
PS. The Polini induction kit is for standard carbs. Also, dependent on your Fanimould you may find the standard bellow a better fit than the Malossi one, and also less rigid/prone to stress-out the carb rubber.
