Had the road clutch in my 30 hp ts1 and it slipped from day 1 even with the cable slackened right off ,i sent it back to AFR and had the race steels and corks fitted and now its ok.
I did feel that the steels were of poor quality in the road clutch but that's only my personal opinion.

Hi Oap, i did both at the same time dropped the oil and adjusted the clutch just happy it works perfect again thanks all for your help
I have fitted a few of the Road clutches, if your crown wheel, spider and pressure plate are all knackered then I personally think the six plate cassette clutch is well worth the £225 for what it is. The first one I fitted was to an engine with one of my kits. There is a fine limit between drag & slipping on the cable but it is just like any adjustment on a clutch, piece of cake. So off on the test run, hard in first gear, and 2nd, and 3rd at that point it started to slip, gear ratio was 4.8:1 final drive, rode back to the cow shed to have a think.
My own GP has a 7 plate LTH clutch which I believe is based on an Aprilia clutch which they recommend to run with 10-40w oil, as the AF 6 plate has "similar" cork design I changed the oil to 10-40w took it for another blast, no more clutch slip!
I have spoken to Ben regarding this, AF do recommend ST90, so if you do as I do it will invalidate the guarantee, but if I fit them I will take on the guarantee myself. BUT ONLY IF I FIT THEM.
Anyway just thought I would pass on my findings it also helped Ian who started this thread.
