Rayspeed race clutch

yes either its a genuine mistake and they sent the cheaper version or someones trying to rip you off.

Was told when bought it that they were waiting for it to come in and would be posted out when they had it.
So wasn't even in stock when was being advertised for sale.
Had a feeling I should just have waited for Rayspeed to get stock in as have never had any problems with them.
First impressions when it arrived was that it wasn't billet aluminium and that I was being ripped off.
Tomorrow I will be mostly kicking up a right f**king stink as I don't like having the p155 taken.
Just thought I would check with people who have the real McCoy first.

They should be given a chance to explain or rectify, could be a genuine mistake.

If they BS or fook about then name them.

As they don't advertise the road version on their website I'd think it's not just a mistake.
It came with an iwis chain and a set of high load bearings so must have been handled by them.
Couldn't have been drop shipped as Rayspeed don't stock iwis chains.

I used my iheritance to buy one of each! Got expensive one in at moment and is very light at lever. Difficulty is getting the bite right. Fast starts are difficult. Ryan Saxleby was having problems with one getting off the line at elvington last year. To be honest both need cleaning up as casting is not the best, expensive one less so than ' cheap' one. Copes well (as it bloody well should) with my standard 20hp ts1. Worked well over Hardknott pass last weekend. No bad smells of overheating and believe me it went full pelt and coped with me slipping the clutch at max revs in first all the way up.

Would I buy another? Think I'll try my fox hat. Friends have done many thousands of miles on theirs and lever is almost as light.

I build 7 plate clutches using surflex greens, MB crowns and Foxhat spiders. They work very well, but not easy for someone looking for a slot in clutch. The AF clutches are a struggle, because the road clutch doesn't handle the power of big motors, and the race snatches....plus it's mostly out if stock!

For fit and forget, I've yet to find or use a better complete clutch package than the LTH 7 plate.

ive been running the same 6 plates surflex green in a tino/camlam crown with a cheap basket in my 28 bhp sprinter for 2 years without one single problem, ive stripped it many times checking it and cant believe how good it still looks and no parts needing replacement ., ok its not high mileage but its still given some stick , its now in a 42 bhp motor and holding up so far.if it does start slipping i will be sticking with the same plates but 7 or more.

I'm impressed with my SSC clutch , don't know how much power it'll realty cope with though, very light too .
