Wassell faulty/ignition problems?

Been having some issues with my engine running rich since upgrade to TS1.
It was set up on Dyno (Cheers Al), so couldn't understand why.
Al did some troubleshooting & the problem looked to be down to ignition, so he replaced the stator with a brand new BGM one.
The problem then seemed to be sorted, but if the two connections from the stator to the wassell are reversed, then it comes back.
Anyone had any problems with a wassell before, know how to test if there is a problem?

I would suspect it's a coincidence, there is no connection between the lighting coils and the ignition coils. Also, the feed into the Wassel unit is AC so it doesn't matter which way round it is connected. Has anythging else in the ignition system been checked, CDI, plug, 2nd green in CDI?

Unless there's a short in the harness coming out of the stator..

Good point but I can't see any reason why reversing the lighting wires would make any difference even so :?

Put a brand new BGM stator on & seemed fine at first.
The issue is only at low revs, especially in 2nd gear.
Just want to know the readings across the wassell to check if it OK.
Gonna try a standard rectifier next, shouldn't be a problem leaving the 2nd output from the stator disconnected, should it?

I presume your new BGM has got the extra wire, I would disconnect the wassel completely and run it and see if you have the same problem in 2nd. Obviously you will have no lights but it will rule it out once and for all. If you want to run a standard AC rectifier you will have to put one of the yellows to Ground and the other to the rectifier. It will then be normal AC. I ran my first Wassle with an AC rectifier back to back on the basis of a simple switch over gave me lights without a horn, if I had a problem. I have never had a problem.
