Trying to jet a px dr 180, with a 20/20 carb. The problem is it starts fine (with choke) and will tickover when choke is pushed in. But when I increase the throttle it burbles and dies, it will, if I give it a fist full, it will run at high revs. It seems to be between tickover and high revs. (this is done on the stand)
160 air corrector
BE3 mixer
106 main
55 160 starter
standard exhaust
Jetting dr180
Would have thought that would be better off with a 24/24e carb .
Has it got a fast flow tap?
what is the standard starter ,that sounds like a px200 one ,maybe it is flooding up ,try the original 50 starter/pilot or whatever it was

Fitted SIP fast flow today, as I say, its' ok at high revs, it's in between tickover and high, seems to be the problem. The engine came with that carb, apparently, all set up!cit205 wrote:Would have thought that would be better off with a 24/24e carb .

Done a few of these conversions and using the standard 20mm carb like yours, great cheap upgrade for a 125. Only thing I changed was the main to 106/108, so as Ben says maybe sort the rest of the jetting back to PX125 spec...check scooterhelp.com

After playing!! I'm still beat. It just tries to die when I up the revs from tickover. I tried a smaller idle jet 52/140, but made no difference. I checked to see if the fuel pipe is kinked, but that seems ok. Don't know what else to try?

Yes, got the SIP conversion kit, that keeps the original 8" wheels. PX 125 engine, with a DR 180 kit, which also came with a mallossi upgear kit. SIP fast flow tap, new nylon lined cables.cit205 wrote:Is this on the sportique sticking with 8" wheels job you were working on?
