Head cowling spacer.

Does anyone know who was selling an alloy spacer that fits between the head cowling and mag housing to take up the space if a barrel packer or longer barrel is used? Might have been on epay? I know I could make one, but they looked like they were either neatly stamped out or laser cut.

Well, i have done a small series of them for the GSF. Didn´t know that those were sent to the UK, too?
Where have you seen them?
Perhaps i have one or two of them still lying in my shed, which thickness are you looking for? I thought i had them laser cut in 3 and 4mm, but they only fit very well on the indian cowlings.

I bought one off ether this site or maybe the LCGB site (might even have been ebay), 2mm thick and laser cut. I really wanted a 3mm one (110 rod conversion) but the 2mm is close enough. I would like another one if there are any going.

I've an 8mm packer on the engine that this cowling is fitted to. As you can see my cowling wasn't painted at the time so I just got some bits of scrap welded on, drilled the holes, and shaped it a bit with a dremmel. I think I needed it 5mm thick from memory:

Can't remember, but sure it was ebay.
I want to fit my ts1 engine (110 rod) into a winter model, using the original cowlings. Problem is, the original 150 barrel is shorter anyway and I'm guessing the cowling is also shorter to suit? So the spacer(s) would need to be 3mm (110 rod) plus whatever the difference it is between the barrel length (Anyone know?).

Thanks for that, but I would rather try and get something ready made as I don't want to modify the original cowling too much in case the scoot goes back to standard as it's unrestored.

I recently needed a spacer on the TS1 I have been building with a 110 rod. It has an Avanti head so uses the Avanti GRZp cowl. I used P40 GDP reinforced filler to build up the mating surfaces and then filed and sanded to blend it in. This would also work on a steel cowl and could be removed if needed to return to standard.

Spanish Series 2's used approx the same spec top end as the Innocenti S1's. These used pistons with a smaller crown height height, 30mm, incidentally the same as the TV175, but because they ran a 107mm rod they used a correspondingly shorter barrel ... so a 9mm shorter cylinder head cowling.
I have a 2.5 mm packer on my TS and it uses a standard s3 cowling so maybe its worth offering up a standard S3 item to see if it fits? You'll have to really cut into the original item to allow for reed valve / exhaust clearance anyway so probably better to pop the original on the shelf for the time being ?
Have you built your TS top end yet?

Thanks for the replies. Plans have changed a bit since first post. I'm going to keep the scooter pretty standard/unrestored , but with a casa kit. So it looks like I need a ~9mm spacer so the orig cowling can still be fitted.
