Is the inside nut on a Sportique fuel tap, smaller than a PX? And will a px fast flow fit ok into a Sportique tank? Cheers

Yes the fast flow tap fits the Sportique Tank. The only problem is the fuel banjo faces the wrong way so you must leave it open all the time as you cannot shut the fuel of as it faces the wrong way. I have fitted one of these taps to my GS150 with a Px engine installed. I fitted a fuel line splitter this is an easy piece to fit and clicks in and out when you want to shut the fuel off and remove the tank if needed. cost around £10.

How can the banjo face the wrong way ,it's just a round hole and you can line the tap up how you like i thought :?

There is a petrol lever that comes out the front of the tap. I f you have that pointing the correct way the banjo faces right. As you look at it, you want it to point left. Or have i bought the Asian copy that cant be turned the correct way.

I suppose you could fit it the correct way, but I feel the fuel line may get kinked as the exit for the line is on the left of the frame.

That's how they are, looks as standard and normal to me, the pipe should come out towards the left (spare wheel/battery/toolbox panel) and then loop nicely down and under the tank to the engine side.

The pipe should loop nicely, but not be too long ,and with the other end attached to the carb banjo you should only just be able to lift the tank enough to be able to get the pipe on or off the tank tap or you run the risk of airlocks.

On the autolube models it runs underneath the oil tank which is below the petrol tank through a clip before exiting the frame on the engine side.

I have never dismantled a PX scooter before. I tend to work on older scooters so wasn't sure where the fuel line went. I tend to have a short as possible route to the carb and as little slack as possible on the fuel line. I normally install fuel line splitters if I need to remove the tank, quick and simple. This allows me to keep the fuel line open in reserve at all times. If you do this it stops a build up of crap in the filter, well thats my theory.

Vespas with carb on engine are all the same in this respect from the 1950's right up to and including the p-range.

I like your idea of a fuel line splitter , although preferring the simple is best approach i do think it's adding something else that could go wrong and i like to have an operational reserve tap.

There also good for security. They seem pretty bullet proof, the only problem i have had is i didn't connect them properly in the first place and so ran out of fuel very quickly. I do have easy access to mine so may be thats why I like them.
