seriously though folks ,if you want and fit an air filter for whatever reason ..usually to prolong engine life etc ,why stick it out of your side panel and into the elements ..be it rain or snow or even dust on hot summers days as surely it defeats the object of the excersise .

You're all missing a trick if you ask me. The Spanish had it right. Why don't you breath through the toolbox with a big louvred door? Not the existing set up perhaps. But the principle is sound.

Agree with Baz with the filters run one on my GP for @ 2 years no issues and can vouch for the rain in Spain with him as wellbazman wrote:As storkfoot, I have ran ram air on my ts1 for last few years , i did oil my one , and anyone who was in Spain for the euro rally will testify it was bloody wet !! No problems whatsoever rain /wet related , good filters .
As my Dad used to say "Each to their own lad"
Had same problem on Spain euro, now use spray on oil and filter cleaner, no problems, Barnsley lamb centre will have on is stall at Scarborough.
I have now cleaned the filter and given it a good coat of Castrol spray air filter oil, sticky stuff isn`t it.
fingers crossed.

I work with a guy who is moto X mad. He says they oil their filters with airfilter oil till it won't take any more oil, then squeeze/wring it out with your hands and then fit it. They also keep one ready oiled in a zip top plastic bag just in case. Also the good thing about using proper airfilter oil is that it washes out with hot soapy water he says.
