Just thought I'd update the thread (seems to have gone with the change over to new server) about exhaust port size.Originally posted about a rapido cylinder and my concerns about the exhaust port, one I know is a Classic and the other I told was a classic.Anyway spoke to Ben at AFR this evening during there "idiot hour" (between 5 & 6) and turns out that the other one I've bought is a race rapido.Classic is 37mm from the top of the barrel to the top of the exhaust port ,race rapido is 34mm from the top of the barrel to the exhaust port. The set up I've got 30mm delly open mouthed and a 48 mm clubman will work, but would improve the low down with a reed manifold and an expansion, but it will work as I'm going to be running it.Anyway just thought I'd close off the thread that isn't here and thank the lads for there in put :D
So here you go below a classic rapido

I am playing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order.

No,had the classic taken out to 225 last March and the what I know to be race just taken out to 225.Both with 1.5mm off the base.
I am playing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order.

I think the classic comes as std with a mahle piston and the race with an asso piston with trimmed skirt. As per Scott or Ben AFR.

I just noticed what somebody mentioned on the older lost post about the differences ...possibly the race is one of the miscast ones MB mentions

Check the difference between the 'long' stud casting
