Yes, I'd say ts quicker off the mark and reaches top end quicker ( thump in the back quicker ) albeit a different animal, the Avanti feels a much nicer spread of power and has more legs through the gears and is defiantly a nicer ride imo, both stock out of the box kits..I like the Avanti more tbh but it is hard to wipe the ts grin off the face.

Yep, very different but both excellent at what they do. The TS1 has proven itself over and over through the decades, however, Sticky's example set the Avanti off to a bad press start. Only now that people are reliably racking up the miles on Avantis are they proving themselves to the market place.
I know that there are a lot of people planning to do the upcoming rally season on Avantis so it'll be nice to hear back from people as to how they are getting on. The Avanti will have to prove itself through the 'on the road' reality, rather than promotional hype, which could/should be said for any of the kits/products out there.
If you find yourself anywhere near Ron's demonstrator, whether it be in his neck of the woods or at an event, you might be lucky enough to take it for a ride. The power delivery certainly puts a smile on my face

I've done close to 2000 miles on mine and very impressed. TS's do seem nippier but then they don't tend to have the tall gearing that Avanti's run with (mines 4:6). The Avanti was designed as a tourer and it certainly fits the bill.
Maybe this season will see some experimenting and tuning with the Avanti barrel and moving more towards "race" performance.....

avanti with reed has ts piston modified to suite avanti....main thing no spitback...although it would be a better idea to use a longer rod and packer to move it away from the engine lug as its a tight fit.

I have two TS1, a 200 and a 225 both bog standard.
the Avanti out performs them both, both on the dyno and on the road.

Hi Victor,
I live in the sticks and rarely ride in towns, However last weekend I rode into eastbourne town center,
bit of filtering, sitting at lights usual stuff. must have behaved its self because i cant remember much about it. Now i think about it i was smooth as i was mainly practicing my riding with no hands trick
if you like to ride hard in town its great, quick off the line and punchy thru the gears.
Mine is geared at 4.6 with li 150 box NK road pipe.
hope this helps
