Well Im lucky enough to own both and ragged both for well over a year now.
An out the box RB225 would easily out perform an out the box TS1
The power comes on more rapidily on the RB as you hit the power band.
The TS1 not as rapid.
However a good well tuned TS1 would come close to the RB.
The TS is of cause old faithfull and when set up right will last especially with the new 1mm ring piston.
The RB when set up correctly needs a bit more looking after and the mechanical life of rings
etc are not as good. It is how ever a highly tuned piece of kit in its standard form.
As we get more aquainted with the RB Im sure it will be as good as the TS for longevity.
IMO I like the RB but I like rag machines and I know how to keep it in top form.
If you like speed & that surge, and you can strip an engine down and are happy in doing so then go RB.
If unsure go for a proper set up TS1
Of course as youve picked up there is a cost differance changing to RB
Will need to change exhaust £200+
May need a better Crank new £200+ if got AF race £80 for new bigend etc
Hopefully you could use your existing carb
The choice is yours m8 hope this helps a bit
