thats not nipping up, as coaster said nicasil cylinders dont normaly nip up and you keep going, sounds like either a fuel problem or maybe a broken ring, what carb are you running and are you running it through the airbox ??? [/quote]

Ah right, my mistake. Carb is Jetex, 22 I think. I'm not great on these things as you probably gathered! Was just after a rough idea before I speak to the shop where it was kitted.

I had the same sort of symptoms when the filler cap breather hole was blocked. Have you checked this?

Also get a container and pull the petrol pipe off the carb and check what the fuel flow is like. If you use a stop whatch, I think it should take no more than about 60 seconds to flow 1 pint (someone correct me if I'm wrong with the time). It could also be float or float valve related but check the flow through the tap first.

PS, is there any back firing or does it just die?
