I'm attempting to make a set of Vega style legshields and need to know what's the typical way these thing get attached onto the fork tube. I've seen pictures of the carbon fiber ones that don't seem to have any bolts or straps up at the top of them . Are they just so stiff that they stay in place at the top once they are bolted to the floor struts? Image

No...they have to be bolted on at the headstock. Metal vega leggies have a bracket, but fibreglass and carbon one dont....you have to fab something.

Mine have a c shaped bracket welded to the inside of the legshields and a horizontal tube welded to the front of the head tube about 6 inches down from the top. The legs of the bracket are the same width apart as the length of the tube (+ a couple of mil) and then a long bolt goes through the bracket and tube holding them on.

This is how I did mine ,the bracket is on the Vega shields and then I welded a threaded tube to the frame Image
