That's because the hot and cold readings shouldn't be significantly different. The reason for checking when hot is to see if the insulation is breakining down as the engine warms up. I don't personnally think heat would be an issue, it would more likely be vibration. Try connecting your meter and gently tapping the coil with a non conductive implement.dopeshots wrote:No not when hot as when i phoned CamLam they couldn't give me any reading for when it was hot only when cold. Hello all again...
so today I managed to test the stator cold and hot and here are the readings:
Cold = Red/Black wire = 226 ohms Hot = 336 ohms
Cold = Yellow/White = 0.01 ohms, Hot = 0.08 ohms
Cold = Red/White = 0.01 ohms, Hot = 0.08 ohms
I ran the scoot up to 83 deg F/H but couldn't get it to miss fire in the garage, I'm wondering if it need to be under load to re-creat the problem or be hotter??
Anyway any feedback would be good as I am not sure if those reading sound ok or not.

Were those reasdings all to earth? they seem way too low. Red (pickup) to earth needs to be between 95 to 100 ohms
Green (LT coil) needs to be 450 to 500ish ohms
With Is earth so should be very close to o ohms (yours is close enough)

Just realised you wrote Yellow/white, that is measuring the lighting coil and that reading is about right, all resdings should be against the white lead or the engine case, check the white to earth just to be sure it has a good connection.
