I personally wouldn't fit an in line filter, fuel starvation is a real possibility

I read this somewhere else too, but it confuses me, we run them on bikes with no issues
struggle to believe that a big 4 pot sports bike etc can require less fuel to 4 carbs, than a lambretta with one carb?
if my Zed thou has inline filter and does about 28mpg without trying LOL, then surely its flowing enough fuel, or isnt it that simple??

heavy is good, heavy is reliable, and if it does fail, hit them with it!!!

In standard form maybe but bear in mind the limits modern day lambretta engines are pushed to and the fact a simple case of a blocked main jet can cause catastrophic piston damage, a big pot 4 would simple miss fire.
