What type of paints are there to use out there? Is it only 2 pac? I'd like to paint my scoot myself to save bucks, but I'm hearing a few horror stories ie: toxicity or 2-pack + novice = horror.

Steer clear of 2Pac unless you know what you're doing and have the proper equipment. It's horrible stuff and not to be messed with. There are alternatives and with a bit of practice you'll get good results whatever you use. I've seen brilliant finishes from a rattle can.

Wise words, cellelose is good if you can get hold of it and was what was used on the original assembly lines. It isn't a tough as 2k but is a whole lot easier to touch in. Single pack acrylic is almost as good and is readily available but be carefull you don't spill petrol on it as it softens the paint. Spills should be left to air dry and then compound to get the shine back.Doom Patrol wrote:Steer clear of 2Pac unless you know what you're doing and have the proper equipment. Nothing wrong with rattle tins. All paint will get chipped when you encounter a lorry going 70mph the other way on a loose chip road.Astroboy wrote:What type of paints are there to use out there? A rattle tin job can be patched up inside thirty seconds.
