As above really, i have a Scootrs front disc with there standard nissin caliper, Master cylinder combo on my Li. I wanted to fit this to an SX so brought what i thought was a SCootrs SX switch housing/collar with necasary holes for the Nissin master cylinder. when i offered the 2 parts up the 2 screw holes and faces are well out of sink. I have attempted to grind it to fit (the collar not the master cylinder.. ;)) but the two faces are so far off im never going to get both screws in no matter what i do... . The 2 screws that hold the collar to the bar are not much better.

So first question, anyone had similar issues and the best place to get a SX type collar that will fit the nissin master correctly?

Thanks
Sef

I deal with scootrs and sterling. With scootrs they machine everyone the same [or have done for at least the last couple of years, before that I couldn't say] so if you have an Li and an SX then in theory they should swap over very easily. With Sterling I get the idea that they make each set individualy, they'll be a good fit but if you try and swap 2 different sterling ones over they could be well out. The 2 companies cut them differently to begin with so a scootrs light switch housing definitely won't fit a sterling and vice versa. The only way I could guarantee supplying one that fits would be to have the master cylinder sent to me. To look at it'll be impossible to say who's master cylinder it is. As a rule sterling use a Black lever and scootrs a polished one, but polished levers are available separately so it's still no guarantee.

The master cylinder is defo a scootrs nissin one but the collar i brought im not so sure, could be anything but a scootrs one i guess. Hoping that one of these 2 will be a better fit. http://www.allstyles-scooters.com/acata ... Brake.html http://www.scooter-center.com/scoweb/pa ... AT&lang=en

That is unless someone has one knocking about ;)

Allstyles don't list the manufacturers name. Scooter Center list their's as Spaq which is Sterling. Both scootrs and sterling use Nissin master cylinders so the fact that yours is Nissin is no guarantee of it being scootrs. They all start life as per item 3122 on Allstyles site, uncut for motorcycle handlebars. I've probably got both light switch housings in stock but, like I say, unless you know for sure which make it is it's a risk nuying one.

PM me if you're going to Peanut Duck Sef.

Peanut Duck is this Sunday. If you give what you have to your mate who is going I'll make sure I've got some light switch housings with me.

One way of telling if your original light switch housing is a scootrs version is if the top screw fitting is recessed to take a countersunk allen key bolt. Scootrs have been doing that for the past year or so. Spaq don't do that. If it's older than that then it may just have the same bolt as the spaq.

the origonal Li switch housing that came with the scootrs kit has a counter sunk hole at the top but its for a screw not an allen key. Its about 4 years old so would be an early batch. The caliper is nissin and there are no spaq marks anywhere.

My Master Cylinder was ordered direct from ScootRS and one of the screws on that never lined up. I cut off the thread and superglued the top bit in to cover the hole. Its been fine for the last six years so I guess one screw is enough!
