Hopefully I'll finally be fitting my engine this week (at long last!) but need another bit of advice please.
I bought an R1 shock from a forum member a while back & just need confirmation of the correct fitting please.
I have the following: 2 x bushes with broad shoulders & 2 with slightly thinner shoulders, 2 x thick flat washers,
2 x thinner flat washers, 2 x thin wavy washers & 2 x 1/2 nyloc nuts.
Can someone please confirm the correct order to fit these?
Also, is there a correct torque setting as I've read allsorts about not tightenting them up too much.
Cheers.

well i made my own bushes so may be slightly different from yours, but basically i made the bushes so the bigger shoulder was against the frame to space the shock away from the mudguard, then i used the wavey washers then the half nuts.i didnt use any flat washers.ive heard talk not to fully tighten the nuts up to allow some side flex due to some shocks actually snapping as the shock was never designed to be rigid,so if you do only "nip" up the nuts makes sure the thread enters the nyloc bit or put a dab of loctite on the thread, ive actually tightened mine up fully as i didnt like the sound of leaving the nuts semi loose.i guess its your choice as its not a lammy made part and their seems to be no hard rule to installing them correctly

mines on with dome headed chrome nuts, and flat washers, just "nipped" tight. been on a few years now, no problems (Special style side panels fitted) only thing i had to do was bend the metal mudguard about 5mm to clear the spring. got the 225 pound spring fitted. best shock ive ever had on a Lammy.

Cheers Gents,
That's helpful information & I also found out from Chiggy's site that the flat washers I've got are actually spacers which may or may not be necessary depending how the shock sits in relation to mudguard.
(Engine fitting may be delayed a few days now due to a hydraulic brake problem!
Why is nothing straightforward on a Lambretta? :wtf: )
