Spoke to SR at Wicksteed as I've got 2 of these cranks. DONT use on motors above 14bhp or so as the rods are still the badly made SIL ones. The cranks are for long life in a std ish SIL 200 motor. The Avanti may break the rod so you need to have the crank rebuilt with a Jap rod.

Did anyone find out if the Glasgow Lambretta MEC cranks for £90 are the same as all the others advertised for £120?

Looks like they are no good for the RB then. I'll go for the MEC race and have the pin tig'd as an extra precaution. These are very good cranks apparently. Cheers all.

what crank do you have now Pete ?, might well be more cost effective to get your own re roded and new bearing and tigged..? even if its a little more than buying a crank fit for the RB, at least you know what youve got is high end quality ?? Dan is doing crank up grades if you have decent webs ?? just a thought.10 inch Terror wrote:Looks like they are no good for the RB then. At the moment Andy, I'm using an AF crank that's had a Jap rod / bearings fitted and tigged after it twisted after 20 miles!!! It's in my Imola engine and I don't want to split it really. I'm sure the MEC crank wil be up to the job, so I'll go with one of those.
