Considering purchasing a LML 125 delux, cheap as a winter project. Is there a difference between an LML 125 engine and a Vespa 125 engine?

if its a late LML 2 stroke, it"ll have a 2 petal reedvalve on the casings, great little motor...BUT.. some had plastic caged bearings on the big end of the crank, which sieze with alarming regularity!.... i"d factor in at least a crank change , i wouldnt trust one. ive recently done an LML motor for a young lad from our club, Mazz crank, upjetted his 20mm carb, DR180, Sito plus, 21Tooth clutch, kept the LML electronic (they work fine) blanked off the autolube etc. goes really well for cheap tuning (2% oil, supermarket petrol) he"s done a few rallies on it , including the C2C , and the lads on bigger cc scoots said it goes really well , and uses next to nowt petrol wise. 2nd hand LML"s can be great value, nothing really wrong with them a bit of fettling wont put right.

dinit want to sound like i"m p1551ing on your chips, but......i remember doing quite a few crank replacements on 2003/04 models  a vespa px125 crank fits straight in, but the autolube needs blanking off, the autolube gear cogs dont line up properly ....thats what i was told off an LML dealer, so just blanked it off rather than risk it.
