Hello,
My Wide Body vespa has a P2 engine fitted but its bit of a bodge and I was going to redo it with the SIP bracket designed for the purpose (see link). Has anyone done one and have any advice about problems or extra bits I'll need.

I have done three of these. The SIP bracket is ok, but the material used is not the best. If you can get a stainless bracket that would be better.
There are a couple of issues, the height of the rear shock spacer bolt and the engine casing. At the engine bolt may need grinding back a little. You will notice a raised section at the center. This hits the floor section at the petrol tap area. What frame are you using and has it been butchered to fit the carb box in. Any problems get in touch.

The frame is (I think) a VB1T.

To be honest it's a complete bitsa. I assume its a vb1t because thats what the frame number starts with. I was told that it's an Acma but I'm not convinced.

I made my own for a gs 150 similar to the second pic, main problem was the shock , i had to grind the outside and shim the inside to offset it, it worked fine in the end no issues with the carb no frame cutting etc. i might still have the measurements in the garage , ill take a look, but it was in '05 so i wont hold my breath.

I just tried to buy one. Listed as ready for delivery right up to when you you try and pay and then it says its out of stock. I've ordered the normal one instead. Now all I have to do is try and undo the welded bodge that's on there at the moment.

Before you go any further, do you have a dating certificate. Or is it already registered in the UK. The bracket is ok, would get it powder coated though. Keep us informed, I am building another GS150, that can take a LML reed valve, P200 and a GS150 engine. Well hopefully. Are you fitting a disc brake?
