Hi everone, I finally got round to taking the clutch off to replace the chain on my SIL 200 casing and found a very disturbing amount of movement on the crown wheel. As it's got the 47 tooth "soft" crownwheel it has the bush rather than the bearings and I found, as well as too much "up down" movement (nearly .4mm instead of the .1mm recomended in Stickey's and I know I can get the shim kit from MB to fix this), their was lots of wobble! :o
On stripping it was, as expected, wear in the bush area. What I found was that there was no wear between the spider and the bush, it was all between the bush and the crownwheel.
What I would like to know if this is the "normal" type of wear and if there is any likelyhood that the wear is actually in the crownwheel. It would be a shame to get a new bush and find that this wasn't the problem.
I noticed that the ScootRS version of the bush has a nice spiral groove machined on the inside and the outside, anyone had any experience of these?

Used to be the thing to file a fine groove inside and out
