Bought a lovely pair of chrome spots of epay for near enough nothing the other day and was planning to fix one low down the legsheilds on my ongoing project . Now I know i`m a bit thick , but when I wire them up to my DC power supply for a test the main H3 type bulbs don`t work ??
I`m obviously missing something ?????? :freak:

have you wired the spot on a separate switch ?

are they dip and main or just single beam spots ?? .. either the bulb is duff or a connection in the holder

Well... they are single beam spots with a blue led halo. The led halo works ok .
But the main drew a large current from my power supply on both of the units so I was doubtful the bulbs were somehow short circuit in both units .
I`m an instument tech by trade so I`m not that daft
.... I just assumed there must be something I don`t know about this type of bulb ... daft as it sounds ??

What he said but you haven't mentioned the wattage of the lamps, they could be anything up to 120watts :shocking: Also you've not mentioned what you are fitting them to, I'd say it's likely that your headlamp will go quite dim when you switch them on unless you arer DC and have a decent battery fitted.vRSG60 wrote:Not a lot to know. Well now I feel daft......I`m away at work at the moment so I can`t check.....they are either some huge wattage or dead short ???
I did put them across a big diesel battery I had lying about with no joy.
OK so if they are 120 watt, what a sensible value to put in there ? I`ve got a halogen headlamp and led rear . Its only really for the look I want to fit it.
